Why Now Is The Best Time To Be An Internet Marketing Company

Timing is everything, right?

Something that’s an awesome idea one minute, could be a horrendous one the next.

Certain businesses are cyclical by nature, and some industries die almost as quickly as they are born, but here’s why I love being an internet marketing company.

Almost Every Company Has A Crappy Website

I don’t know why. In my circles this stuff is common sense. But it seems like a whole bunch of companies got redesigns, or paid for some SEO work in like, 2002 — and haven’t done anything since.

Well guess what?

This is a whole new digi-world we’re seeing now. Especially in terms of visibility and search engine marketing. In those days, so few people (including Google) knew what they were doing that anybody with a little knowledge of HTML and some common sense could get ranked on the engines.

I mean, sheesh, the WORD “Social Media” didn’t even exist back then, and Facebook was but a twinkle in Mark Zuckerberg’s eye.

Stuff’s changed so much so fast that small and medium-sized companies are having trouble keeping up.

Why This Is Great News For Me

Because I get to help them fix it!

I absolutely love this work. There are few things I enjoy more than strategizing, researching, putting together a good plan, and executing it for explosive, measurable results.

See what I mean?

I guess the money’s okay, too :)

Here’s What You Should Do

  • Hey Ben,

Thanks for the compliments. Our site is definitely insufficent too. Honestly, I'm not even sure our goals are configured as well as they could be w/i analytics (among other things).

That's one thing that sucks about being a web marketing company in Baltimore..

If you're any good, you're so busy w/ client work that you don't have time to work on your own babies. Not the worst problem to have, mind you, but a limitation nonetheless.

But yes, I'm very optimistic about the future of this industry.

    Happy marketing,

    Chris
  • Chris,

Love the website and the blog. Not only do most people have insufficient websites (including us), but my prediction is that in the future companies will have multiple (crummy) websites!!

It's almost like we're home improvement folks at the start of a MAJOR explosion of new houses being built.

    Ben
